We have exciting news!!! Hanz, who was surrendered to SEGSP after his owner passed away, is officially a foster fail and has found his forever family.
From his mom: Our GSP Harry passed away in February this year. He was 13 years old. When he passed, there was a void on our farm that we knew we needed to fill. I contacted Kanupp Kennels to get their opinion on what kind of dog to look for. Marty immediately said I needed to meet Hanz. We fell in love at once! I decided to take him home and foster him and It didn’t take long to figure out Hanz wasn’t going anywhere. He is so sweet and well mannered. He completed lots of training with Kanupp Kennels and is doing great at our goat farm here in North Carolina. He especially likes swimming with his new buddy Grayson, our son. He loves his morning walks in the fields and spends a lot of time rolling around in the tall grass. He’s even beginning to make some new goat buddy friends this week! We couldn’t be happier that Hanz has found a happy ending with the Grindstaff family. What great news!

Sunny has found his home! And it turns out Sunny is just as lucky as SEGSP Rescue’s Florida team – he now has their newest coordinator as his mom – Amanda, photo on left (and dad Frank of course) 😊 After visiting Sunny’s foster family and meeting Sunny, she immediately knew he was destined to be part of their pack.
Sunny’s former human passed away so this has been a rough transition for him. A HUGE thank you to his foster parents Erica and James for going above and beyond to show Sunny that the love, cuddles and care will continue and he is safe. And we know Amanda is always up for a challenge and gives her all when given a project…so Sunny is about to experience an amazing life with Amanda and Frank. From Amanda: "He's absolutely perfect! And has already met his new grandparents and they agree." Congratulations everyone – this is truly a happy day! Updated adventures are coming soon. Luna has found her home with the DiSandro family! She also has a new canine sibling Gatsby and they are getting along great. A huge thank you to her foster mom Liz for spending so much time determining the best fit for Luna.
Congratulations everyone – another success story! Scout, in AL, is staying right where he is – with his foster dad David and GSP sister Brandi! And he has a new name for his new family… Neo. It means new, to go along with his new and improved life. Perfect!
David says he has managed to fit in perfectly so he might as well stay and make it official. Congratulations David, Neo and Brandi Sunny has found his home! When Hank the Tank in GA went to the U.S. Canine Biathlon a few weeks ago, he not only earned a medal but also won the hearts of his eventual forever family -- Hank has been adopted! Hank found himself the best of all worlds: His forever mom is eager to spoil him rotten, and his forever dad is a professional K9 trainer who knows how to keep Hank's mind busy so he'll stay out of trouble. Hank showed off how much his social skills have improved: Slow introductions with his new canine siblings, which include a Great Pyrenees and a Malinois girl, went well, and they were eager to show Hank how much fun it is to play in their huge, grassy fenced yard. Congratulations, Hanknado! We knew you'd find the right home to help you channel all that Hankness into being the best boy you can be!
Colt in NC has found his forever home with the Adams family - YAY! Colt was fostered by our wonderful volunteers Lynda and Keith. They recognized almost immediately he had some urinary issues but we were able to get him treated quickly and he now acts as if nothing ever happened!
Colt’s new dad picked up Colt and per Lynda “he couldn’t stop wagging tail.” Colt’s dad will be retired in a few weeks so ALL their attention will be on Colt. He will be living his best life on a farm that has 4 cows and LOTS of fenced-in land to roam on. Congratulations to Colt and the Adams family. A big congratulations to Diesel (the one that came from SC) and the Warford-Carter family on his adoption this weekend! Diesel came into rescue as an Owner Surrender and our amazing foster volunteer Hillary had a hard time saying goodbye to him. Since day one Diesel has been an incredible companion and full of snuggles and kisses. When she dropped him off, he acted like he belonged with the Carter family! He just plopped on their porch swing like he was born there. Thank you Hillary for all you’ve done for Diesel – we’re sure you’ll have many happy smiles when you receive updates on Diesel. Congrats to the Warford-Carter family and Diesel, along with his new canine sibling Brody.
