It took Cash (GA) a little while to sort through applications, but he has finally found the perfect home – his FOREVER home!
From his foster mom Mandy, “He definitely hit the jackpot! He has a beautiful home and large yard to play in, all the toys a dog could want, and a dog park right down the road. Cash was so excited and happy at their home. He jumped up to greet Pat (which is unlike him) took the squeaky toy from John and went about his merry way playing just like he had always been there. He was genuinely happy, so it did our heart good to know he was going to be in such a great home where he'll always be loved! Congratulations Cash for finding an amazing forever home!” Thank you to Mandy and Jake for taking such good care of Cash and helping him along his journey. Congrats to Cash and the Shuey family!

Bentley (NC) is so happy to announce that he has FINALLY found his forever home! We can not thank the Kanupp Kennel staff enough for all they’ve done to help Bentley on his journey to his forever, forever home. He sure looks cozy on his first night at home!
Congratulations to the Bentley and his new mom Beth! YAY Bentley! Georgia went about her “forever” plan in a different way than most GSPs. Her secret plan started with her foster GSP sibling Colt. It took a while but Colt not only warmed up to Georgia, he now isn’t sure what he’d do without her. So…Colt lobbied and convinced his parents Vicky and Chris that they should adopt Georgia. Result: Georgia’s foster, now forever, family has officially joined the Foster Fail Club! Look at the photo of Colt thanking them – beautiful!
From Vicky, “It brings us a great deal of peace to know we will never have to worry about where Georgia is or how she's doing. Since she has arrived, she has always struck out on her own path, including heeling me while I do my normal farm chore routine. She has never found that patiently waiting by the gate for me to finish, like her k-9 sibling Colt does is much fun. She brings me a great deal of laughter and excitement with her fearless, tenacious, no nonsense, business with our livestock. She and Colt, who are both a bit unsocial, have found a healthy balance and respect for each other, and pick up where the other leaves off now. She awaits Chris arrival home like a bouncy ball and has snuggled her way to his heart and on to the furniture lol. She compliments our family well and it’s hard to imagine life without her presence.” Congrats Georgia, Colt, Vicky and Chris! Ralph, our senior sweetheart in TN, was slow to receive applications at first, but suddenly, he became Mr. Popular! And he is so happy to announce that he has found his perfect forever home with Casey and Joey.
When his new family officially picked him up, Ralph seamlessly jumped in the back seat of their truck...not too shabby for an older guy who is partially blind! They drove off into the sunset and Ralph has been enjoying his big backyard ever since. He got to check it out a few days prior and did a perimeter check, investigating all of the trees and gave everything his sniff of approval. His foster mom, Allison, loved and cared for this guy so much and her patience and care for him was amazing. She was so happy for him and proud to see him exploring his new home and yard with seemingly no worry. Ralph came to rescue anxious and scared and when he first visited his new home, his tail wagged the whole time and he just seemed like he always belonged there. He has come such a long way! His new family quickly fell in love with this sweet, gentle and handsome guy. All of his new pet siblings are respectful of his space, and easily welcomed him into the pack. He is still getting used to his new space, new people and new dog siblings, but word is that he hasn't stopped wagging his tail yet! His new mom Cacey said "Axel, Ralph's GSP brother, seems to know that Ralph has trouble getting around so he walks slowly in front so Ralph can follow him." Comments like this make you know that he is in the right place and we are so grateful for both his foster mom for finding him the perfect landing spot and to his new family for making him feel so welcome. Millie (FL, being held) has had several nicknames while at her foster home, but they have finally decided on the “right” name for the “right” dog for them. That’s right, Millie is HOME with her foster-now-forever home YAAAAY!
From her forever mom Allyson, “Millie-Joy Marie is the light of our life. It would be an honor to be her parents for the rest of her life. God knew she was exactly what we needed after losing King, who was actually my first foster and my first failure. She truly was sent for us. Our 51st foster.” Ruger is on the right, Mama (2019 SEGSP foster fail) and Millie is being held by her new dad Jesse (We love their Halloween outfits too). Congratulations Milli-Joy Marie and the Steinberg family! Murray has found his forever home! Murray is pictured with two of his three human siblings and they couldn’t love him more. The Johnson family said Murray already loves the neighborhood dog park, had a bath and fitted for his new Palmetto bow tie.
A huge thank you to Kristy who fostered Murray. Kristy is so excited that he found his home with the Johnson family. She said Murray will be so loved and will continue to grow and blossom under their care. Kristy already misses Murray but knows how much he is loved. Congratulations to Murray and the Johnson family! Elle (FL) fell into her foster family’s routine, then fell in love. Yup, she is now part of the family FOREVER!
Congratulations to Elle and the Becker family! Remi has found his forever home! Remi came from a high kill shelter in SC and after a very public plea to help rescue him his prayers were answered by our new volunteer Amanda. He then moved to another new volunteer, Kathy, who added to the love and care Amanda gave him.
His new parents, Neal and Lizzy, say he is the biggest sweetheart and on the way home Remi finally settled when Neal went back and sat with him. He is going to enjoy being the only dog in the house and soaking up all the love. A big thank you to both his foster mom’s Kathy and Amanda for getting this boy settled and ready to find his forever home. And congratulations to Remi and his new family. Sadie, now Gracie, has found her forever home! This girl has hit the jackpot with her mom and dad Richard and Kristen. She also has 3 feline siblings and word has it, friendships have formed, and cuddling has ensued.
Of course, this wonderful occurrence would never have happened if not for her foster dad Chip. Thank you Chip for all of the time and effort put into finding Gracie’s forever home, and all of the time and love put into preparing her for this journey. Congrats to everyone (including Gracie’s feline siblings)! Taffy, who has been boarded at Kanupp Kennels since January, has found her forever home! We are SUPER happy for this girl!
Taffy had a troubled past and was frightened of many people and other dogs, but with the kennel staff’s love and training, she made remarkable progress and had been searching for her home since April. She needed a very special home (often called a Unicorn), and our prayers were answered when one of her trainers fell in love with her and decided to adopt her. Taffy’s troubled past is behind her now and we all look forward to updates about her happy forever with her dad Benjamin. Congrats Taffy and Benjamin! |
